R&D contract to develop microwave components

LONDON — The Advanced Digital Institute (ADI) has been awarded a research and development contract by Filtronic Broadband which designs and manufactures components and subsystems which are deployed in point-to-point microwave radio systems.

ADI (Bingley, England) is an independent research and development organization funded by a £ 2million Yorkshire Forward contract, Bradford Metropolitan District Council, Airedale Partnership, and EU regional fund support.

ADI recently also signed an agreement with ETRI, the South Korean based, ICT research institute, to work on the study of high sensitivity satellite navigation.

Filtronic Broadband's (Newton Aycliffe, England) product range includes both transceiver modules and waveguide piplexers. Copy Ends.

RF Micro Devices (Greensboro, N.C.), recently completed the acquisition of Filtronics compound semiconductors division for £12.5 million (about $25 million).
