Warren, N.J. — ANADIGICS, Inc. has introduced the AWT6309 linear power amplifier (PA) designed specifically for use in CDMA wireless handsets and data devices that operate in the 1.7-GHz band. The PA is designed to be compatible with Qualcomm CDMA2000 and EVDO chipsets.
The AWT6309, the latest addition to the High-Efficiency-at-Low-Power (HELP) CDMA power amplifier family, reduces average current consumption by as much as 50%, compared to conventional two-stage amplifiers, according to ANADIGICS, thanks to the company's proprietary design and unique InGaP-Plus technology.
Housed in a 3 x 3 x 1.0-mm package, the AWT6309 offers a low quiescent current of 14 mA and low leakage current in shutdown mode of <1 uA. The PA also integrates an internal voltage regulator that eliminates the need for external voltage regulators. The PA touts high efficiency: 41% at +28 dBm output and 22% at +27 dBm output.
