The WiMAX Forum has selected the G35-WiMAX protocol test solution to verify the interoperability of WiMAX network nodes in Mobile WiMAX Forum Certified Test Laboratories around the world.
As part of the WiMAX Forum Network Interoperability Test initiative (NWIOT), reference networks will be set up in all WiMAX Forum Test Laboratories, against which WiMAX component vendors can test their implementation.
Tektronix's G35-WiMAX protocol test solution will serve as the reference point to analyze the responses of individual devices in test scenarios specified by the WiMAX Forum.
"Increasingly, service providers are creating end-to-end networking solutions spanning multiple platforms for fixed, nomadic, portable and Mobile WiMAX systems, and the G35 provides a dependable solution that helps ensure compliance within the network," said Ed Agis, Chairman, Certification Working Group, WiMAX Forum.
The G35-WiMAX solution provides real-time decoding and advanced filtering of IEEE 802.16e R1 with Bit Error Rate Test as well as monitoring of vendor-specific R6 and WiMAX Forum compliant R3, R4, R6 and R8 interfaces for both control and user plane.
This visibility allows for quick and cost effective diagnosis of all functions, such as network entry, radio resource management and mobility management. The solution also includes the ability to simulate complete network element behavior over the key WiMAX interfaces for the purpose of functional and load/stress testing.
