San Diego, CA — Ideal for low phase noise applications such as in satellite communication, the ZRO0743B2LF from Z-Communications is a coaxial resonator based VCO in the UHF-band, that is RoHS compliant. The first in a new series of products under development, the VCO operates from 738 to 748 MHz with a tuning voltage range of 0 to 6 Vdc. This VCO features an excellent typical phase noise of -131 dBc/Hz at 10 KHz offset and a typical tuning sensitivity of 2 MHz/V.

The ZRO0743B2LF is designed to deliver a typical output power of 9 dBm at 8 Vdc supply while drawing 23 mA (typical) over the temperature range of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius. The device has a typical phase noise value of -104 dBc/Hz at 1 KHz offset and -151 dBc/Hz at 100 KHz offset. Typical 2nd harmonic suppression is -20 dBc.

The VCO comes in the company's newly developed ZMX-14-SM package, measuring 19- x 19- x 5.6-mm (0.75- x 0.75- x 0.22-inches). It is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements and is compatible with automated surface mount assembly and reflow assembly processes.
