FBAR-based Band 8 WCDMA duplexer claims superior insertion loss and isolation

Böblingen, Germany — Avago Technologies has announced a high-performance Band 8 WCDMA duplexer that leverages the industry's leading Q values of its FBAR (Film Bulk Acoustic Resonator) technology. The ACMD-7605 offers a superior 1.3 dB typical Tx insertion loss (IL) and 3.5 dB maximum IL over-temperature which significantly lowers power consumption and improves talk time.

Achieving superior IL for Band 8 devices is especially difficult due to its wide bandwidth and the close spacing between transmit and receive bands. The ACMD-7605 also provides excellent over-temperature isolation performance of 51 dB minimum in the Tx band and 48 dB minimum in the Rx band, which in combination with the company's best-in-class insertion loss minimizes sensitivity degradation experienced in over temperature conditions.

The simplified routing architecture in the ACMD-7605 duplexer eases integration into PCB designs. Additionally, the device comes packaged in a miniature 3.0 x 3.0 mm module and is RoHS-compliant. It is ideal for UMTS-based mobile phones, femtocells, repeaters and data terminal applications.
