LONDON Silicon & Software Systems Ltd (Dublin, Ireland), a licensor of mixed-signal circuits for consumer products, has licensed its IP to Frontier Silicon (Watford, England) for use in the latter's Chorus 3 SoC for digital radios.
Initially, S3 delivered to Frontier a high performance PLL from its portfolio.
Chorus 3 is the latest version of the radio receivers Frontier has been supplying to makers of digital radios for the past years.
"S3 achieved first-time-right silicon and helped us to rapidly enter the market with our Chorus 3 SoC. The low jitter performance of this PLL means that we can offer a superior product that will help drive the successful migration to DAB digital radio across Europe and Australia," said Bob Heads, VP Engineering, at Frontier Silicon.
