Application Focus: RFID & Security
Wireless, RFID and Biometrics technologies begin to gain market traction in shaping a brave new world

The Evolution of the GSM Radio Subsystem
The commercial drive for low-cost, compact, and long battery life handsets, along with the requirements for multiband (for internetwork roaming), multislot EDGE (for higher data rates) functionality, has motivated significant advances in the GSM radio subsystem, including its antenna and IC constituents. In addition to technical performance margins against regulatory standards for high production yields and base station/mobile device link quality, key drivers in this RF technology evolution have mainly been: low cost, increasing levels of integration towards reduced component count and PCB area utilization, and low power consumption.

Bluetooth and WiFi integration: solving co-existence challenges
Recent advances in wireless networking technology provide the means to revolutionise the way information is delivered. The promise of un-tethered and seamless access to information anywhere, anytime, is leading to a dramatic increase in applications and use scenarios.
