Directional coupler offers 6 dB coupling over 0.5 to 20.0 GHz

KRYTAR, Inc., has announced a directional coupler operating in the frequency range of 0.5 to 20.0 GHz offering nominal coupling of 6 dB in a compact package.

The directional coupler, Model 152006, adds to the company’s growing family of directional couplers by offering superior performance over the ultra-wideband frequency range from 0.5 to 20.0 GHz. This advanced stripline design delivers 6 dB (±1.0 dB) of nominal coupling (with respect to output) and frequency sensitivity of ±1.0 dB. Other key features include >12 dB directivity; <2.1 dB insertion loss across the full frequency range including coupled power; maximum VSWR at any port of 1.35; and input power rating of 20-W average and 3-KW peak. Operating temperature is -54°C to +85°C.

This directional coupler is uniquely designed for systems applications where external leveling, precise monitoring, signal mixing or swept transmission and reflection measurements are required. The coupler provides simple solutions for many applications including electronic warfare (EW), commercial wireless, SATCOM, radar, signal monitoring and measurement, antenna beam forming, and EMC testing environments. For many space-restricted applications the compact size makes KRYTAR directional couplers ideal.

The directional coupler is in a compact package measuring only 11.40- x 1.35- x 1.80-cm (4.49- x 0.53- x 0.71-inches). With the standard SMA female connectors the coupler weighs just 3.1 ounces. Optional N male connectors are available.
