Mouser signs global deal with IIoT specialist Sierra Monitor

February 08, 2018 // By Ally Winning
Mouser has signed a global distribution deal to supply Sierra Monitor Corporation’s range of products, which are designed to facilitate communications and security for the IIoT.

Sierra Monitor’s FieldServer line of protocol gateways support over 140 different industrial automation protocols. These devices include BACnet Explorer Next Generation (NG) and BACnet Router which use the BACnet automation protocol to integrate with networks and devices. BaCnet is a protocol often used by building automation and management systems to run facilities more efficiently. The BACnet Explorer NG can automatically discover BACnet MS/TP and BACnet/IP devices, and has a write capability to test the devices or debug the network. The Explorer NG is a standalone product that has WiFi or cellular capability and can be accessed remotely.

Sierra Monitor's BACnet Router provides a BACnet internetworking solution for BACnet/IP, BACnet Ethernet, and BACnet MS/TP networks. The device can also provide a secure cloud connection. There are single- or dual-serial-port options with Ethernet to establish BACnet MS/TP connections to BACnet/IP, BACnet Ethernet, or BACnet MS/TP and BACnet/IP connections to BACnet/IP or BACnet Ethernet. The routers provide access to SMC Cloud, Sierra Monitor’s device management platform. The SMC Cloud enables secure remote access to the web applications that are available locally on the BACnet Router.
