Small oven-controlled crystal oscillator offers high performance

CTS Electronic Components has announced its Model 149, a small size oven-controlled crystal oscillator (OCXO), that outperforms the competition and operates at temperatures suitable for commercial and industrial use.

Model 149 delivers huge performance advantages that improve signal sources for telecommunications switching and wireless communication applications while offering cost savings. The part is ultra-durable with stability as tight as ±50 ppb at -40°C to +85°C temperature range and the lowest phase noise available of its kind at -152 dBc/Hz offset 100 kHz from the carrier.

The device offers frequency ranges from 10 to 25 MHz, 3.3V or 5.0V supply voltage options and at steady state, +25°C, it consumes less than 1 W of power. The product comes in a small 9 x 14 mm surface mount footprint for design engineers in need of more board space and HCMOS output logic.

Model 149 is competitively priced at $45 each at 100-piece quantity.

CTS will introduce this precision OCXO along with the company’s other offerings at the IEEE International Microwave Symposium (IMS) in Tampa, FL, USA this week.
