PCTEL expands spectrum of antennas for IoT applications

December 05, 2017 // By Christoph Hammerschmidt
Wireless communications company PCTEL continues to expand its range of integrated antennas for wireless enterprise networks and the Internet of Things (IoT). The new products support all common technologies such as WLAN, LTE, LoRa and NB-IoT.

Many of the antennas in the current range were originally developed as customer-specific solutions; they have proven themselves in customer applications and are now also available to the broad market. The integrated antennas can be individually adapted to achieve the best results even with special requirements. In the company's recently opened wireless lab, developers are working to increase data throughput and help customers certify their devices.

"Sophisticated wireless systems are a crucial prerequisite for advanced automation technologies. For example, high-performance integrated antennas play an important role in IoT devices,"explains Rishi Bharadwaj, PCTEL's Senior Vice President and General Manager of Connected Solutions.

Billions of networked IoT devices are already in use – and analysts expect high growth rates to continue in the coming years. The integrated antennas from PCTEL have been specially developed for Internet access points or mobile and fixed network devices in the licensed and unlicensed spectrum. The company's range of products also includes the individual adaptation and integration of the antennas in order to achieve optimum performance of the IoT devices.
