Public safety LTE market to see double digit growth

Market reserch firm ReportsnReports predicts that the public safety LTE market is forecast to reach $3,091.3 million by 2023 from $782.9 million in 2017 at a CAGR of 25.7 percent during (2017-2023) driven by the government initiatives toward public safety, interoperability concerns, and rising demand for unmanned operations and remote surveillance.

Government initiatives on citizen safety and increasing expenditures on public safety and security are a key driver for public safety LTE. Law enforcement and border control are expected to hold the major share of public safety LTE applications with a large user base that includes the police and military. The rational for public safety broadband is that it enables law enforcement to access information, stream video, and collaborate in real time.

The public safety LTE market for end-use devices is projected to grow at the highest CAGR during the forecast period, due to the implementation of a large number of public safety LTE networks. Interoperable devices will rule the market for at least a decade. Companies manufacturing end-use devices that are interoperable with LMR or TETRA network will benefit the most.

Europe is expected to lead the public safety LTE market between 2017 and 2023. The key restraining factor for the growth of the public safety LTE market is the limited availability of spectrum.
