Lowell, MA — Tyco Electronics has introduced a low-cost, RoHS compliant, dual SPDT switch die for broadband applications that require high linearity, low insertion loss and high isolation. Designated M/A-COM MASW-008206-000DIE, the switch is intended for 802.11a, 802.11b/g, PC Card and access point applications and is optimized for 2.4 GHz as well as 5.8 GHz operations. With its low leakage current, it maximizes system linearity performance while reducing DC power consumption.
The switch is ideally suited for 802.11b/g applications with a 3.0V bias and was designed to have a low typical insertion loss of 0.7 dB at 2.4 GHz while achieving an isolation of 28 dB and P1dB of 28 dBm. Typical insertion loss at 5.8 GHz is 0.9dB with an isolation of 25 dB and P1dB of 28 dBm. This dual SPDT switch is fabricated on a low-cost 0.5-micron gate-length GaAs process and features full passivity for increased reliability. Each switch is 100 percent RF tested to ensure performance compliance.
