Statek Low Earth Orbit oscillator with ultra high shock rating
Low phase-noise oscillators capable of withstanding shocks of up to 100,000g with operating temperature range from -55 to +125°C.

Frequency control specialist, Euroquartz has announced availability of Statek’s new range of 30 kRad tolerant, ultra-high shock, low phase-noise oscillators that are ideal for low earth orbit (LEO) applications. Capable of withstanding shocks of up to 100,000g, the new CXOXLPNR surface mount components are housed in hermetically sealed ceramic 3.2- x 2.5-mm packages with operating temperature range from -55 to +125°C.

The CXOXLPNR oscillators deliver a low voltage CMOS output with typical low phase-noise of -165 dBc/Hz at 125 MHz (20 MHz offset) combined with typical low RMS phase jitter of 150 fs over 12 kHz to 20 MHz and low acceleration sensitivity. Output frequencies from 20 to 125 MHz are available with supply voltage range from 1.8- to 3.3-V ±10%.

Ideal for low earth orbit and small satellite applications, the new CXOXLPNR oscillators can be MIL screened for aerospace and defence programmes such as communications/GPS and supplied for use in industrial environments.

Additional specifications include frequency-temperature stability of ±100 to ±25ppm (industrial) or ±100 to ±50ppm (military), output load of 15 pF, start-up time of 5 ms maximum, duty cycle of 45% minimum, 55% maximum and first year ageing of 2ppm maximum. Supplied in tray packs or tape and reel per EIA 481, the components can withstand maximum process temperature of 260°C for 20 seconds.
