Ranatec sees boom in 5G test equipment orders from Asia
Ranatec, a part of the Qamcom Group AB, has announced it has experienced a very strong 1st half in 5G test equipment requests from the Asian market, requiring an increase in production capacity to handle demand.

Ranatec saw a 250% YoY (Year on Year) increase in 1H 2020 orders from Asia, compared to 1H 2019. The supplier of niche test equipment sees the strong influx of orders from Asia as an indication the Asian market is trending towards heavy investments in 5G technology and development.

“We are experiencing keen interest in 5G test equipment investments this year from Asia, despite the general effect that COVID-19 has had on markets in the first half of 2020. At the same time, the European market appears to be taking a more careful approach to 5G expenditures and development, says Magnus Kilian, CEO of Ranatec.”

“As result of a strong 1H from Asia, Ranatec has experienced minor influence from the COVID-19 crisis on sales thus far. The significant new demand has meant ramping up production and capacity to produce 5G specialized products.”

“The RI266 Tunable Notch Filter has been one of the Ranatec 5G products in strong demand.”

The RI 266 tunable notch filter is a first of its kind, state-of-the-art tool to meet new RF test and measurement requirements for wireless devices. It is a critical tool for adaptation to stringent new ETSI/3GPP conformance test specifications for mobile device radio properties and covers all sub-6 mobile bands and channel bandwidths for 2G/3G/4G/5G. Typical applications include formal conformance testing by accredited test houses and internal verification processes executed by mobile device vendors
